There was a scholar of the law who stood up to test him and said, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”  Jesus said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”He said in reply, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”He replied to him, “You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.” (Luke 10:25-28)

All mothers have a unique expertise in the second great commandment “Love your neighbor as yourself”.  A mother loves her child as herself because, in a most unique way, her child is herself, he was formed totally within herself.  Mary also has a unique expertise in the first great commandment, ” Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your being, all your strength, and all your mind”, because she not only loves her Son as herself, but also as her Lord and Savior. Her Son is the Son of God.  Thus as she loves Jesus as herself, she is simultaneously loving God above all. Jesus says this repeatedly in the Gospels, “whatever you did to the least of these, you did to me”  Therefor Mary is the most expert human in the two great commandments of love. We call her an Icon of the two great commandments, and thus her Immaculate Heart is the doorway to everlasting life. As infants we learn the second commandment first through the love of our mother before we experience the love of God. In the Spiritual dimension, we learn to experience Holy Love through our Blessed Mother in the Holy Spirit before we ever experience the love of the Divine. God has created her to teach us and mold us in these commandments of love.  When we proactively love her and personally receive her love, Jesus sends his perfecting Divine Love into every loving act we do making these acts salvific and eternal. She becomes our personal trainer, teaching us how to love as God has commanded, as only a mother can do. In Mary’s Heart is God’s Perfect Will coupled with a Mother’s Compassionate Heart.

Jesus gave her to us as our mother when He gave her to John from the Cross.  John took her into his home and heart, so must we.

  • “As you know, Holy Love–My Mother’s Heart–is the First Chamber of the United Hearts, for it is in the Flame of Holy Love the soul is purged of his most glaring sins and faults. As the soul is made aware of these sins, it is the Holy Mercy of My Mother’s Heart which moves the soul to remorse and repentance. It is only then that My Divine Mercy flows into the heart of the sinner. So you see, just as Holy Love prepares the heart for Divine Love, Holy Mercy prepares the heart for Divine Mercy.”
  •  “If the soul is not repentant, he is not ready for My Mercy and I cannot forgive him. The soul first must allow My Mother to prepare him for My forgiveness.”  (Holy Love Message, 2/6/2004)  “Prepare the way of the Lord” (Mk. 1:3)
