This ship has no compass; that is, its direction is not chosen wisely – just as the proud soul chooses his own way instead of the Way of the Divine Will (Este barco no tiene brújula; es decir, su dirección no es elegida sabiamente; justo como el alma orgullosa elige su propio camino en lugar del Camino de la Divina Voluntad)

…’He will scatter the proud in the conceit of their heart.’ Here is the meaning: The proud soul is like a ship without sails upon a stormy sea. It is tossed to and fro by every whim of free will. This ship has no compass; that is, its direction is not chosen wisely – just as the proud soul chooses his own way instead of the Way of the Divine Will.”

He chooses littleness, regards everyone as better than himself – more holy, more worthy. His soul is like a ship on a calm sea with a strong sail and a worthy compass. He will not become lost or confused, for he allows himself to be led by the Divine Will. He knows how to sail the ship of his soul according to the Laws of God.”

“Un alma así piensa demasiado en su propia opinión, demasiado en su reputación, demasiado en sus deseos y comodidades.  El alma que realmente me ama, ama la Voluntad de Mi Padre.  Elige la pequeñez, considera a todos como mejores que sí misma; los considera más santos, más dignos.  Su alma es como un barco en un mar tranquilo con una vela fuerte y una buena brújula.  No se perderá ni se confundirá, ya que se permite ser conducida por la Divina Voluntad.  Sabe cómo navegar el barco de su alma de acuerdo a las Leyes de Dios.”
